Terms & Conditions
These terms set out how CDR Report Guide works with you — what we deliver, what we expect from you, how payments and revisions work, and what happens if things go sideways.
1. About these terms
These terms and conditions form the agreement between you (the client) and CDR Report Guide, a Strathfield NSW-based engineering services firm. They apply whenever you engage us for any of our writing, review, or rewriting services.
By booking a consultation, paying a deposit, or sending us project material, you accept these terms. If you don’t agree with any part, don’t engage our services — and reach out to us to discuss before proceeding.
In these terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean CDR Report Guide. “You” and “your” mean the engineer or ICT professional engaging us.
2. Our services
We offer five distinct services:
- CDR Report Writing — full Competency Demonstration Reports for Engineers Australia (three Career Episodes, Summary Statement, CPD list)
- CDR Report Review — independent compliance review of CDRs you’ve drafted yourself
- CDR Plagiarism Removal & Rewriting — recovery rewrites for CDRs flagged or rejected by Engineers Australia
- KA02 Report Writing — Knowledge Assessment reports for Engineering New Zealand
- ACS RPL Report Writing — Recognition of Prior Learning submissions for the Australian Computer Society
What we don’t do:
- Migration applications or visa lodgements
- Visa advice or immigration consulting (that’s for MARA-registered agents)
- Representing you to Engineers Australia, Engineering NZ, ACS, or any other body
- Guarantee a positive assessment outcome — the assessing body makes that decision
3. Engaging us
The standard engagement runs like this:
- Free 15-minute consultation to confirm we’re the right fit for your situation
- We send a written quote covering scope, deliverables, package tier, and timeline
- You pay 50% deposit, which reserves your writer’s calendar slot and starts the project
- We send a structured intake questionnaire to capture your project material
- We draft your report against MSA Booklet 2026 (or the equivalent spec for KA02/ACS RPL)
- We deliver the draft for your review; the balance is due at draft delivery
- You have two rounds of revisions; we finalise the document and deliver the submission-ready package
Engagement begins when we receive your deposit and confirm the writer assignment in writing.
4. Your responsibilities
To deliver a strong report we need accurate, complete input from you. By engaging us, you commit to:
- Providing truthful and accurate information about your qualifications, work history, and projects
- Responding to our queries during the intake and drafting phases within a reasonable timeframe
- Submitting work material that is genuinely your own — projects you personally performed, with technical decisions you actually made
- Reviewing the draft promptly and providing consolidated revision feedback within the agreed window
- Paying the balance on draft delivery (50% balance, per the payment schedule)
- Not on-sharing the delivered report with third parties beyond your own use for skills assessment
If material you provide turns out to be inaccurate or not your own work, we reserve the right to terminate the engagement without refund of deposit and to flag the matter to Engineers Australia if required.
5. Our responsibilities
For every engagement we commit to:
- Original engineer-authored content — no AI-generated text, no recycled templates
- Discipline-matched writer assignment from our in-house team of 50+ practising Australian engineers
- Alignment to the most current MSA Booklet (2026) for CDR work, and equivalent up-to-date specifications for KA02 and ACS RPL
- Plagiarism verification via Turnitin and AI-content detection before delivery
- Delivery within the agreed package timeline (5–21 days depending on tier)
- Two rounds of revisions included in every package
- Confidential handling of your personal and project information
6. Payment terms
Our standard payment structure is 50/50:
- 50% deposit on engagement — reserves the writer and starts the project
- 50% balance on draft delivery — due before any revisions are processed
For engagements over A$1,000, we can split into three payments (40% / 30% / 30%) on request.
All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). International clients are charged in AUD; currency conversion is handled by your card issuer or bank.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, bank transfers (Australian and international), and PayPal. We don’t accept cryptocurrency, BNPL services, or instalment financing arrangements.
Engineers Australia, Engineering NZ, and ACS assessment fees are paid directly to the assessing body by you. We don’t collect or mark up these fees.
7. Revisions
Every package includes two rounds of revisions. A revision covers reasonable adjustments to the draft we delivered — tone changes, section rewrites, restructuring of Career Episode framing, or competency-element re-mapping based on your feedback.
What counts as a revision versus new scope:
- Included in revision rounds: rewriting, restructuring, tone adjustments, factual corrections, competency-element re-mapping
- Not included: changing your nominated ANZSCO occupation (which usually requires re-doing the Summary Statement and significant Career Episode changes), substituting new projects after drafting has begun, or expanding the scope to additional services
Beyond the two included rounds, additional revision work is quoted separately at the time of request.
8. Confidentiality
We treat every engagement as confidential. We don’t share your personal details, project material, or delivered report with any third party except as required for delivery (e.g. our assigned writer and senior reviewer), or as required by law.
We don’t publish, sample, or reuse your project material in other clients’ submissions, templates, or marketing material.
If you’d like us to sign a standalone Non-Disclosure Agreement, we’re happy to — just ask before sharing project material.
You agree to keep our pricing, methods, and any unpublished proprietary tools we share with you (such as intake templates or competency-mapping frameworks) confidential.
9. Intellectual property
Once full payment is received, you own the final report we deliver to you. You can use it as you see fit for your skills assessment application.
The underlying engineering content (the projects, decisions, and technical work described) belongs to you — we draft from your input. Our writing, structuring, and competency-mapping methodology remain ours; we license you the right to use the specific document we deliver, not the methodology itself.
If we use anonymised excerpts in marketing material or training, we’ll request your consent first.
10. Outcome support guarantee
If Engineers Australia, Engineering NZ, or ACS returns a negative outcome on a report we wrote, and the rejection grounds are within the scope of our work (compliance issues, Summary Statement errors, plagiarism in our drafted content, or AI-content flagging), we prepare the recovery rewrite at no additional charge.
This guarantee does not cover rejections for issues outside our writing scope:
- Qualification verification disputes (e.g. EA disputes the legitimacy of your degree)
- English language test results
- Document attestation or notarisation issues
- Wrong ANZSCO occupation chosen against our specific advice during consultation
- Information you provided that turned out to be inaccurate
To claim the guarantee, send us the assessing body’s outcome letter within 30 days of receiving it.
11. Limitation of liability
We can’t guarantee a positive assessment outcome — Engineers Australia, Engineering NZ, and ACS are independent assessing authorities and the decision is theirs. Our 98% positive outcome rate across 840+ delivered submissions reflects past performance, not a future guarantee.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, our total liability to you in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees you have paid to us for that engagement.
We are not liable for:
- Visa application outcomes (assessment is one input among many)
- Migration agent fees or migration timeline impacts
- Loss of earnings, job offers, or sponsorship opportunities resulting from assessment delays
- Indirect, consequential, or special damages
Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded.
12. Cancellations & refunds
Our refund policy is set out in detail on our Refund Policy page. The short version:
- We do not offer refunds once an engagement begins (after deposit is paid and the writer has been assigned)
- If we cancel after consultation but before drafting begins, the deposit is refunded in full
- You are protected by the 50/50 payment structure — you only pay the balance once the draft has been delivered for your review
- If you’re not satisfied with the draft, we use the included two rounds of revisions to address concerns rather than issuing refunds
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Effective from” date at the top of this page and notify active clients by email.
For existing engagements, the terms in force when you paid your deposit apply to that engagement — updates to these terms apply to new engagements from the effective date forward.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we both submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for any dispute arising from these terms or your engagement with us.
Before escalating any dispute to court, we ask that you contact us first so we can attempt to resolve it directly. Most disputes can be sorted in a single conversation.
