CDR Report Writers in Australia for Engineers Australia Migration Skills Assessment
CDR Report Guide is a Strathfield-based team of 50+ engineers and professional writers preparing Competency Demonstration Reports, Summary Statements and Continuing Professional Development lists for Engineers Australia’s Migration Skills Assessment. Our team has been doing CDR work since 2022.
What is a Competency Demonstration Report (CDR)?
A Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) is a technical document required by Engineers Australia for engineers seeking skilled migration under non-accredited qualification pathways.
It is the central document of Engineers Australia’s Migration Skills Assessment (MSA), and it determines whether your engineering education and experience meet the Australian standard for your nominated occupation.
If your qualification is recognised under the Washington, Sydney, or Dublin Accord, you may apply via an accredited pathway and skip the CDR. Otherwise, the CDR is your route to Engineers Australia approval, and from there, to a skilled migration visa.
Who Needs CDR Report Writing in Australia?
You need a CDR if any one of the following applies. Most migrant engineers tick multiple boxes.
Non-Accord Country Qualification
Your engineering degree is from a country outside the Washington, Sydney, or Dublin Accords. Most engineers from South Asia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa fall into this group.
Provisional Accreditation
Your qualification is provisionally accredited by Engineers Australia rather than fully accredited, common for newer institutions or recently-renamed programmes.
Different Target Occupation
You hold a qualification from an Accord country, but you’re applying for a different engineering occupation than your degree was issued for. EA treats this as a non-accredited application.
General Skilled Migration
You’re applying under GSM, visa subclasses 189, 190, or 491, and need a positive skills assessment outcome letter before lodging your Expression of Interest.
Engineering Manager Applications (ANZSCO 133211)
You’re applying as an Engineering Manager. These applications also require a Relevant Skilled Employment Assessment (RSEA) alongside the standard CDR. We prepare both.
Our CDR Writing Services
We prepare five distinct documents across the Engineers Australia and adjacent migration pathways. Each service is delivered by a writer whose own engineering discipline matches yours.
CDR Report Writing
Full Competency Demonstration Report drafted from scratch. Three Career Episodes (1,000–2,500 words each), Summary Statement with paragraph cross-referencing, and a one-page CPD list, aligned to MSA Booklet 2026 and your nominated ANZSCO occupation.

How CDR Report Guide Prepares Your Competency Demonstration Report
Our writing process is built around the assessment criteria Engineers Australia actually uses. Six steps, in order:
Free consultation and ANZSCO selection
We start with a 15-minute call to understand your engineering background, projects, and migration target. Most CDR rejections trace back to a wrong ANZSCO occupation choice. We recommend the right code based on your duties, not your job title.
Discipline-matched writer assignment
Your assigned writer specialises in your engineering discipline. A civil engineering CDR is handled by a writer with civil engineering expertise. A petroleum CDR by someone with a petroleum engineering background. It’s the only way the technical content of your Career Episodes reads as authentic.
Project and Career Episode mapping
From your work history and academic background we identify three suitable engineering activities. Each Career Episode must describe a distinct project, demonstrate complex engineering activity, and evidence different competency elements from the others.
Drafting against the MSA Booklet 2026
Every paragraph of every Career Episode is anchored to a specific competency element it evidences. The Summary Statement that links them is built alongside, not as an afterthought.
Compliance and plagiarism review
Each CDR passes through a senior compliance check, a Turnitin similarity scan, and a separate AI-content detection pass. Engineers Australia’s 2026 detection routines flag both copied text and AI-generated content, so this stage is non-negotiable.
Final delivery and revisions
You receive your finished CDR with the Turnitin similarity report attached. Revisions are unlimited, including any clarifications Engineers Australia comes back with.

Why Engineers Choose CDR Report Guide
Six reasons engineers choose CDR Report Guide.
Australian-based writing team, not offshore copywriters
Our team is a mix of qualified engineers and professional writers with engineering subject-matter expertise. Your Career Episodes are written by someone who understands the discipline you work in.
MSA Booklet 2026 alignment
Engineers Australia updates its MSA guidelines periodically. Many CDR services still draft against older 2020 specs. We track every booklet revision and update our writing templates within four weeks.
Strathfield NSW office
Suite 105/30-34 Churchill Avenue, Strathfield NSW 2135. Registered Australian business, not a virtual operation. Local engineers can meet us in person; international clients reach the same team by phone, WhatsApp, or email.
Experienced team since 2022
Several hundred CDRs prepared across our team’s history. We’ve worked with most engineering disciplines and EA scenarios.
Turnitin similarity report with every CDR
You receive proof your report is original before submission. EA stores every CDR ever assessed in its database, paraphrased samples and AI content are detected and rejected. We write from scratch in your voice.
Unlimited revisions throughout the process
If you need changes during drafting, or if Engineers Australia comes back with clarifications, we revise. No additional fees. No time limits.
Engineers We’ve Worked With
Recent feedback from engineers across disciplines and countries of origin.
I had a bad experience with my self-written CDR before. The team rewrote my three Career Episodes from scratch and explained the Summary Statement cross-referencing properly, which I never understood the first time around. The process took a bit longer than I expected but the final report felt thorough.Rohan M.Civil Engineer · ANZSCO 233211 · India → Sydney · 2025
Went with the Premium package because I had a 90-day visa lodgement window. The writer understood mechanical engineering projects well and asked questions that made me think about my work properly. Report came back in nine days as promised. One small revision round and I was done.Faisal A.Mechanical Engineer · ANZSCO 233512 · Pakistan → Melbourne · 2025
I work as a software engineer but my Bachelor’s is in Electrical Engineering. I wasn’t sure if ACS RPL or CDR was the right pathway. The consultation helped me work out that CDR under 233311 was the better choice. A few sections needed extra revisions to get the technical detail right but they were patient with it.Priya S.Electrical Engineer · ANZSCO 233311 · India → Brisbane · 2024
Used them for my KA02 since I was applying to Engineering NZ. They knew the Knowledge Profile elements and worked through my work samples one by one. Email replies were sometimes slow but the final document covered everything required.Mahesh K.Structural Engineer · ANZSCO 233214 · Nepal → Auckland · 2024
Other Skills Assessment Pathways We Support
Not every migrant engineer needs a CDR. We also prepare reports for adjacent assessing bodies.
ACS RPL →
If you’re a software engineer, developer, systems analyst, network engineer or another ICT professional without a recognised ICT qualification, your skills assessment runs through the Australian Computer Society. The ACS RPL report consists of two Project Reports plus the Key Areas of Knowledge section mapped to the ACS Core Body of Knowledge.
KA02 Report →
For engineers migrating to New Zealand without a Washington Accord–accredited qualification, the Knowledge Assessment KA02 report demonstrates equivalence to a Washington Accord engineering degree through 3–4 work samples mapped to Engineering NZ’s 12-element Knowledge Profile.
Other assessing bodies (consultation only)
We provide guidance on VETASSESS, Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), and the National Engineering Register (NER) where these apply alongside an EA application, though we do not write VETASSESS or TRA reports directly.
